Globe valve
Guide to Controls (BG 83/2023) written by John Marrow and published by BSRIA in June 2023, states: ‘Globe valves have a spindle which moves up and down and use a linear actuator. The overall height is therefore greater. These valves can be used for low, medium or high-pressure water and steam systems. Typically, the valve plug is made of bronze or stainless steel and the valve body of bronze or cast iron. This type is known as lift and lay or plug and seat valve.’
